King James and the Special Men Perform Live on World Cafe – Friday at 2pm

After living out west his entire life, bandleader Jimmy Horn took one trip to the Big Easy and never left. Since then, he’s been committed to celebrating the sounds of his adopted home, including starting a record label, called Special Man Industries. We’ll hear King James and the Special Men perform live today, with Alynda Segarra of Hurray for the Riff Raff and Leyla McCalla of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Plus, Jimmy talks with host Talia Schlanger about all things New Orleans, on the next World Cafe.
