Now, that's not the only card in the deck. You'll hear "Go to Hell" (Nina Simone), "Eternal Life" (Jeff Buckley), "When My Time Comes" (Dawes), "Somebody Prayed Me Over" (Sweet Honey in the Rock) and even "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" (Death Cab for Cutie). It was certainly tempting to include a whole bunch of heavy-duty Christian songs, but I managed to avoid them, and never got closer than June Carter Cash, Arlo Guthrie and John Prine.
I hope that no one out there is tempted into exploring the Afterlife before her/his actual time has come around. I'd certainly hate to be blamed for sending Uncle Tommy to Limbo just because he was curious about what it would look like, whether jobs were available and if there were inexpensive restaurants. Come on, Uncle Tommy, you've got plenty of time for the Afterlife. And remember Aunt Phyllis's slogan . . . "Don't go where I'd feel uncomfortable, Tommy."
