Plainsong was a British folk-rock band, formed in early 1972 by Iain Matthews (formerly of Fairport Convention), Andy Roberts and 2 others. The original group split up before the end of that same year. Some eighteen years later, Andy encountered Iain when he was performing in a pub in Brighton, and the two decided to revive Plainsong. In 2014 they recorded some songs of Richard Farina, to mark the approaching 50th anniversary of his death. The result was Reinventing Richard: The Songs of Richard Farina. We spoke with Iain and Andy in front of a live audience at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City.
