The U.S. Department of Commerce announced Monday morning that the department’s Economic Development Administration will award over 7 million dollars to better equip Sonoma County's workforce for disaster recovery. The funds will be used to build The North Bay Regional Construction and Building Trades Employment Training Center on the Santa Rosa Junior College Petaluma campus. Local investors matched the federal grant with a million dollars. KRCB's Adia White spoke with North Bay Congressman Mike Thompson about how big of a difference the funds could make.
