The 1990s was a richly diverse decade for rock n roll. Some critics say it was rock's the last great decade. It was the decade where we witnessed trends that had begun in the late 80s come to their logical conclusion, such as the fracturing of genres into countless subgenres, the lo-fi aesthetic gaining mainstream acceptance, and the rise of indie rock.
