Spearheaded by The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Southern rock became a staple of FM radio in the 1970s. Combining R&B, soul, blues, country, jazz, gospel, bluegrass, and hard rock, these artists stirred up a true melting pot of American styles with a distinctly Southern voice, often with virtuosic musicianship. In addition to the above-mentioned bands, we’ll hear from The Marshall Tucker Band, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Wet Willie, Outlaws, Black Oak Arkansas, Dixie Dregs, Molly Hatchet, Johnny Winter, Drive By Truckers, Charlie Daniels Band, Amazing Rhythm Aces, Blackfoot, The Steel Woods, The Black Crowes, and more! Thursday, April 23. 9-11pm on KRCB 91.1FM.
Ric on the Radio can be heard every 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 9:00 pm on KRCB-FM Radio 91 / streaming @ norcalpublicmedia.org / Download the FREE KRCB App @ iTunes & Google Play!
