California fire season is in full swing, but the priority fire prevention projects that Gov. Gavin Newsom called for earlier this year are nearly all works in progress.

Californians are going to experience hotter and hotter temperatures in coming decades. The Union of Concerned Scientists say extreme heat is inevitable even in the best-case scenario where greenhouse gas emissions are significantly reduced.
