Heritage Homes & Landmarks, a committee of the PetalumaMuseum Association, is pleased to announce an evening house tour on December8th of three vintage homes decorated for the holidays. The tour also features astop at the Petaluma Historical Library & Museum at 20 Fourth Street, whererefreshments will be served. Proceeds from ticket sales directly benefit theprograms of the Petaluma Museum Association.
The houses on this year’s tour were built circa 1870 through1910 and feature the superb craftsmanship we associate with Victorianarchitecture. What was once termed a parlor in days of yore now translates intoa living and/or family room, now lavishly trimmed with ornamented trees,garlands and festive lighting for the occasion. Each house’s dining room andkitchen will also be available for viewing. Docents will add commentary aboutarchitecture and house histories.
This year’s tour houses are conveniently located within aten-square-block area of Petaluma, south of the historic downtown area,enabling many tour-goers to walk from house to house. Another option is todrive from one location to the other.
