The R&B group The Bruthas will headline the first Funky Friday concert on the season.

What are Funky Fridays. Here's how the Press Democrat describes it:

"The Funky Fridays concert series opens May 22 for its third season at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, with The Bruthas playing funk, soul and rhythm and blues. The series will run every Friday night for 16 weeks, closing on Sept. 4.

The live concerts will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the park’s outdoor amphitheater stage.

The rest of this summer’s schedule includes: Ragtag Sullivan, May 29; Second Line, June 5; Gator Nation, June 12; Backtrax, June 19; The Bluesburners, June 26; Funky Dozen, July 3; Rosetown Revue, July 10; Full Steem, July 17; Ten Foot Tone, July 24; Sugarfoot, July 31; The Blues Defenders, Aug. 7; Volker Strifler, Aug. 14; Tommy Thomsen and Wendy DeWitt, Aug. 21; Jami Jamison Band, Aug. 28; A Case of the Willys, Sept. 4.
