



The outdoor gear lending library at Sonoma Ecology Center is designed to inspire environmental stewardship among the youth of Sonoma Valley. It provides camping equipment free of charge to local nonprofits, removing the hurdles of renting or buying gear.
With this program, Sonoma Ecology Center is making overnight outdoor experiences accessible to youth, especially those from low-income schools.

Sonoma County Library will join libraries, schools and bookstores across the country to observe Banned Books Week from Sunday, October 5, through Saturday, October 11, with library displays, book lists, classroom presentations and more. This year’s national theme is “Censorship is so 1984. Read For Your Rights.”
First launched in the 1980s, Banned Books Week unites the book community in defense of the freedom to read. By drawing attention to nationwide efforts to remove or restrict access to books, the week highlights the harms of censorship and affirms every individual’s right to explore diverse ideas
