Supporting Child Health and Childcare in Sonoma County: First 5 and Measure I

In the November 2024 election, Sonoma County voters resoundingly approved Measure I, which was known as the Sonoma County Child Care and Children’s Health Initiative. It adds a quarter-cent sales tax which is being used to support children’s health, specifically mental health and support for childcare providers and early education. First 5 Sonoma County has been operating here since the late 1990s, supporting early childhood development, and they are tapped to administer the Measure I funds.
