It's coming on time to dress up silly and run around and maybe collect some candy. I know, I know, I know Halloween starts sometime in late August. In fact, we're past Christmas by now, if you've been out some place retail. But one of the things I have always always loved about this time of the year is pumpkin seeds.
I mean, I know they're available all the time, but I remember as a kid carving out the pumpkin, making old jack into a lantern, putting them on the front porch and cleaning up those seeds with the outside husks, not just the little ones in the center that you get at the store, and roasting them in the oven with a little bit of salt on top of them, and then crunch, crunch, crunch. They're apparently very nutritious, but I don't care. I love pumpkin seeds, no matter what.
Savoring Sonoma, I'm Clark Wolf for KRCB.
