I got to be involved in a tasting of apple pies not long ago. And one of the chefs who made apple pies for this very special event had never made an apple pie. And this was going to be in front of a lot of people who know and love her or know of her and want to love her. So, she spent eight weeks practicing making apple pies. Now, mind you, she wasn't the grand prize winner, but boy, was that a delicious plate of food.
