Bay Area Bountiful

In 1990, Sonoma County residents created the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District to permanently protect the greenbelts, scenic viewsheds, farms and ranches and natural areas of Sonoma County. The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District goals include supporting the economic vitality of working farms to preserve agricultural heritage, protect ridgetops, coastal bluffs, hillsides and waterways, preserve natural areas that provide habitat for wildlife, partner with local agencies and organizations to leverage funding for land protection, and foster stewardship. The District achieves its mission via four programs, Conservation Planning; Community Relations and Stakeholder Engagement; Legislative Program and Land Acquisition. The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District permanently protects the diverse agricultural, natural resource, and scenic open-space lands of Sonoma County for future generations. more information at www.sonomaopenspace.org
