Critical race theory, the rights of transgender students, replacement theory, gay rights, and immigration are among the controversies, real or imagined, that divide our nation. These divisions and more, create political and social struggles between those of differing opinions and have been labeled the Culture War. Culture War issues are not isolated from one another, but are all part of a fabric of conflict which constitutes nothing short of a struggle over the meaning of America. Unlike the religious and cultural conflicts that historically divided the nation, the contemporary culture war is fought along new and unfamiliar lines. When sorting out what is real and truthful information, from what is misinformation, public television and public radio can serve as a trusted guide.
