This series introduces viewers to Sonoma County California's wine country, a region long known for superior quality of its agricultural products. Today, the many appellations of Sonoma County are recognized as producing some of the world's finest wines.

 Alexander Valley Appellation
Nearly every variety grows here with some success, but it is Chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon that have brought the former prune-growing region its current acclaim

 Dry Creek Appellations
Farming and viticulture extend back to the 19th century, when Italian immigrants planted fruits and vegetables for market and grapes for their own table.

 Russian River Appellations
The Russian River Valley, with its cooling marine fog and fertile soil, produces some of America's finest wines, including pinot noir that ranks among the best in the world

 Green Valley Appellation
The famous grapes of Burgundy pinot noir and chardonnay, for both still and sparkling wines are responsible for Green Valley's reputation as a world class wine region

 Knights Valley Appellation
The unique character of this appellation can be discovered in its mountain vineyards, where ideal growing conditions have resulted in cabernet sauvignon of regal quality.

 Sonoma Valley Appellation
Christened 'Valley of the Moon' by writer Jack London, Sonoma Valley, the fertile arm of land that arcs between the Mayacamas Mountains and the Sonoma Mountains

 Sonoma Mountain Appellation
The mountain rises above Sonoma Valley's fog line, allowing for slow and even ripening that results in suave, complex cabernet sauvignon with soft tannins and full fruit flavors

 Los Carneros Appellation
Sparkling wines from Carneros enjoy considerable praise, but in recent years, imaginations have turned towards still pinot noir, grown here with spectacular results.

 Chalk Hill Appellation
In the hilly terrain due east of Windsor, nestled in a far corner of the Russian River Valley appellation, is the small viticultural area of Chalk Hill

 Bennett Valley Appellation
Olive trees and a lavender farm thrive side by side with vineyards in our newest viticultural area, Bennett Valley, situated on the northern rim of Sonoma Mountain.

 Sonoma Coast Appellation
Marine influences define this sweeping appellation, an area that stretches from the hauntingly beautiful San Pablo Bay all the way to the Mendocino County line

 Northern Coast Appellation
History defines this large appellation, with Italian immigrants shaping both viticulture and agriculture more than a century ago.

 Rockpile Appellation
Rockpile is a true mountain appellation and the only viticultural area in Sonoma County planted exclusively to red grapes.

 Sonoma County
Our most important appellation is Sonoma County itself, with five major valleys, hundreds of microclimates, and 13 smaller viticultural areas in its vast embrace.
