Peppered among the vulnerable and broken veteran stories is the lighthearted joy of the puppies, the redirected lives of the female inmates, and the good-natured humor of the veterans and inmates as they work closely together. The film is a story of redemption for the inmates and profound new hope for the veterans through the unconditional love of these very special dogs.
