The Asparagus Festival has been an annual event since 1985. It was last celebrated at the San Joaquin Fairgrounds in Stockton, but will move to the Stockton 99 Speedway.

Live bands, a wine and beer pavilion, and of course tons and tons of asparagus will be on hand.

Festival promoter Tony Noceti says deep fried asparagus is still the favorite but there are plenty of other dishes to feast on, from asparagus ice cream to asparagus smoothies.

“We’re having some more food products. I think we’re going to have 15 different asparagus-type foods, drink, dishes, stuff like that,” he said. “Every year we keep working on more and more products.”

Noceti says all the activities will be outdoors and visitors will be asked to wear masks when not eating or drinking.

Tickets will also be available online but attendance may be limited due to COVID-19 concerns.
