Biden declared a major disaster due to the Cador Fire, which has burned more than 219,000 acres and destroyed more than 1,000 structures, including 782 homes. The FEMA declaration means federal funding will be available for affected communities to recover.

The president is expected to land at Mather Airport around 2:15 p.m. After the tour, he will speak on his administration's response to wildfires around 4:25 p.m. Watch live below, or listen live to CapRadio to hear his remarks.

In the evening, he’ll head to Long Beach for a campaign stop with Gov. Gavin Newsom, who faces a recall election tomorrow. The election will determine whether Newsom finishes his first term as governor or is removed from office.

The president will spend the night in Southern California before making another stop in Denver on Tuesday.
