Council voted Saturday afternoon to end the curfew immediately and end the National Guard deployment in Sacramento at midnight. Guard members remained downtown Saturday evening during demonstrations that moved from Cesar Chavez Plaza to the state Capitol and the Sacramento County District Attorney's office.

Further protests are planned around the Sacramento region Sunday.

Stevante Clark, whose brother Stephon Clark was killed by Sacramento Police in 2018 and who has been leading many downtown demonstrations, is speaking at a planned event in Folsom. The gathering starts at 11 a.m. at Folsom City Hall.

There is also a #BlackBrownShutItDown march planned from Southside Park to Cesar Chavez Plaza starting at 4 p.m.
