Tiny Desk Artist Profile: Sofia Rei

The times are indeed challenging for musicians, and presenters around the world are scratching their heads over the best way to continue to support live music. This week the world music festival globalFEST teamed up with NPR Music to present a week's worth live performances under the umbrella of our Tiny Desk concert series. We called it Tiny Desk Meets globalFEST and you can watch all of the performances on NPR Music's YouTube channel.

Argentine vocalist Sofia Rei was featured during the first night, so we took the opportunity to speak with her about her career. It's a fascinating exploration of her own creative process, as well as a capsule history of musical traditions from the southern most tip of the Americas.
