Santa Rosa Police cordon off the scene on Monarch Court, inside the Valle Vista
Senior Mobile Home Park in west Santa Rosa on Wednesday afternoon, January 8th.

Santa Rosa police said they're investigating what's believed to be a homicide claiming four lives at mobile home park in West Santa Rosa.

Police said there's currently no threat to the public.

SRPD Lieutenant Chris Mahurin said police this afternoon originally responded to a request for a welfare check made by a resident's family member.

"So just around 3 P.M. one of our officers arrived on scene here at this address," Mahurin said. "When they arrived on scene they had noticed that no one appeared to be answering the doors, [they] didn't initially see anything, and decided to make forced entry into the residence."

That was at a residence in the Valle Vista senior mobile home park between Occidental Road and West 3rd Street.

Mahurin said officers quickly discovered the four deceased adults inside the residence.

"All four of them were in a little bit different parts of the house," Mahurin said. "But overall in the same house as well, currently there is no threat to the public itself, but right now we are investigating a homicide."

Lt. Mahurin said the department's violent crimes team is handling the investigation going forward.

This is a breaking story - KRCB will update with the latest information when it becomes available.
