A recent spate of antisemitic and racist zoom calls during public comment at Sonoma County government meetings prompted officials to stop taking live comments from people not physically present in the Santa Rosa chamber.

To learn more about the motivation and strategy behind those calls, and how civil society can effectively respond, KRCB News spoke with Rachel Caroll Rivas, Deputy Director of Research, Reporting and Analysis with the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate crimes.
