April is national poetry month.

And in 2022, the Library of Congress named Sonoma County's Ada Limon as poet laureate of the United States.

Limon is the author of half a dozen award-winning books of poetry. She received the 2021 National Book Critic's Circle Award for her work "The Carrying."

The Sonoma native and graduate of Glen Ellen's Dunbar Elementary spoke this week with KRCB's Doug Jayne.... who began their interview by asking how she got her start.
