Now, in the installation phase of the mural, dozens of Artstarts' young artists have taken over applying the California poppies, lupin and yarrow onto the wall.

18-year-old Elizabeth Zindler is an apprentice at ArtStart and has been creating art throughout the pandemic.

“It definitely has kept me pretty grounded because being so like alienated, away from everything has been a struggle,” Zindler said. “But coming back to Artstart has really helped.”
