The Sonoma County Civil Grand Jury, a group of concerned volunteers, serves each year to investigate public complaints and other concerns they identify about the county government. In its yearly report, the Grand Jury found that the Behavioral Health Division of the county was not only over budget but lacked policies and procedures for fiscal responsibility. Sonoma West Editor Laura Hagar Rush recently wrote about the Grand Jury report. In the second of three “reporter’s notebook” debriefs, she told KRCB News Director Steve Mencher about the Grand Jury’s findings and recommendations concerning Behavioral Health.
