Daisy Pistey Lyhne 1024x1024Local environmental activists are coming together for a town hall tonight to discuss options for confronting climate change. The event is hosted by several local non-profits and will focus on rallying support for the “Green New Deal.” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and others introduced this policy package in February with the goal of curbing emissions and creating more jobs in green energy. KRCB’ Steve Mencher spoke with one of the organizers of the event, Daisey Pistey-Lyhne, about her hopes for Green New Deal and why Sonoma County should support it.
The Green New Deal town hall will take place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
