“Now that the new Healdsburg Avenue Bridge has been completed, we’re thrilled to bring the Water Carnival back to Memorial Beach,” said David Robinson, aquatic specialist at Sonoma County Regional Parks. “It’s so appropriate for the proceeds of the Water Carnival to benefit the Water Safety Patrol. These funds will enable us to educate visitors about how to stay safe at the Russian River and provide children and other vulnerable swimmers with loaner life vests.”

The Healdsburg Water Carnival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Local dignitaries, including Healdsburg Mayor Tom Chambers, will lead a vintage car parade along Healdsburg Avenue and pause for a ribbon cutting at the new bridge. They then will proceed to Memorial Beach for the rest of the celebration.

This year new features at the Water Carnival will include a “Zoom Flume,” which visitors can slide down into the river, and a new inflatable, floating Water Park. Additional all-day fun includes Sandy the Swan boat rides, face painting, The Great American Rubber Duck Dash, paddleboard jousting and Sonoma County’s only floating wine barrel races.

Other activities provided by the City of Healdsburg Mobile Recreation Unit, the Sonoma County Free Bookmobile, plus exhibits by the Pacific Air Museum, Healdsburg Historical Museum, Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, and Sonoma County Water Agency

Live music, beer and local food trucks will serve a delicious variety of lunch and dinner options too so make a whole day of it at this lifeguarded event at Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach!
