Today we hear from one man who went to Greece to do what he could to help them.
John Namkung was far from the only volunteer to arrive in Greece without a clear plan for how he wanted to help the refugees there. He discovered there were dozens of ad hoc groups who had organized themselves to address specific needs.

During his volunteer trip to Greece, John Namkung recorded his thoughts and experiences in a 9-part blog, illustrated with numerous photographs he took. You can read it here. On Monday evening, he will also offer a talk and slide show titled, How My Experiences with Refugees in Greece Opened My Eyes and My Heart. That presentation will be at Congregation Ner Shalom, 85 La Plaza, in Cotati on Monday, May 23, at 7 PM. The event is free, but donations for refugee aid will be collected.
