Bats are present throughout most of the world, with the exception of extremely cold regions. They pollinate flowers and disperse fruit seeds; many tropical plant species depend entirely on bats for their seed distribution.

Bats are abundant in our Regional Parks, with many roosting in hollowed out trees or abandoned structures. Regional Parks installs bat boxes where appropriate to increase the roosting opportunities for these extremely beneficial animals.
