Planes, research ships and satellites will be recruited to study the dynamics of California's rainfall. In particular, the study will investigate how aerosols--airborne particles--affect precipitation. Study organizers hope the study will rewrite weather forecasts and permanently change how California prepares for storms and manages its reservoirs.
