These low, damp clouds cool the area, while supporting agriculture and wildlife. Researchers are now working on measuring the value of fog, even as climate change makes its future uncertain.  

Alicia Torregrosa, a physical scientist and fog researcher with the U.S. Geological Survey, recently discussed fog's ecological and economic importance in a talk title "The Value of Coastal Fog -- It's More Than Meets the Eye" at USGS headquarters. Watch the video online.
