Winter Bird Observing with Alvaro Jaramillo | Bay Area Bountiful
Some may think winter is a quiet time for nature in the Bay Area. SF Bay Bird Observatory biologist and lifelong birder Alvaro Jaramillo has news for them: during wintertime in our region the bird population explodes! He points out many resident and migrating species of sparrow along the trail to Cowell Ranch Beach, and comments on ocean birds when he reaches the shoreline. Raptors are also active at this time of year and a few fly by before the end of this walk just south of Half Moon Bay. Alvaro takes a moment to converse directly with the birds!
