When the fires moved on the Redwood Valley Rancheria on October 8, eleven members of the Little River Band of Pomo Indians stayed behind to fight the flames.

Reporter Sarah Reith was at the annual Northern Circle Indian Housing Authority meeting recently, where the men were honored.
