Rakshika Thakor: Making Marks
Rakshika Thakor’s memory of growing up in India, as well as her love of traveling around the world and her love of nature, are the greatest influences that she draws upon in her creative process. They give her incredible joy and continue to inspire her as well as push her to explore new artistic directions. Thakor is an accomplished printmaker and textile artist, employing various techniques including woodcut, linocut, monotype, monoprint, etching, collograph, drypoint and aquatint. Her textile work incorporates: silk scarves, pillow covers, tie-dye, brush painting and block prints of her woodcut & linocut designs.
